Homer Olvera, 80, was born on August 7, 1940 in Allende, Coahuila, Mexico and was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 14, 2021 in Houston, Texas. Homer was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and devoted his life to his family and his students. Homer graduated University of Houston and helped many of his students to straight their paths while teaching auto mechanics. Honorable, respectful, and kind; Homer was always there to help anyone in need. He was preceded in death by his father, Alfonso Olvera; his mother, Delfina Cortez; also by his daughter, Yvonne Hope Olvera. Home leaves behind to cherish and treasure his memories his loving wife of 48 years of marriage, Aidee Olvera; his sons, Alfonso Olvera & wife Wendy and Anthony Olvera & wife Angela; his grandchildren, Jacob Alfonso Olvera, Lorelei Aurora Olvera, Kyle Anthony Olvera & wife Katherine, Courtney Olvera, and Anthony Crawford & wife Cheryl; his great grandchildren, Allison Crawford and Maddi Crawford; his brother, Jesus Alfonso Olvera; his niece, Adeline Olvera Slaughter; his nephew, Jesse Alfonso Olvera; his great niece, Alyssa Slaughter; all his cousins in the Jimenez and Mendez Families; he also leaves behind many other relatives and numerous friends. Homer will be dearly missed by all those who shared wonderful memories with him.
