It comes with great sadness to announce that Anastacio "Boxer" Cantu III, of Houston, Texas, passed away on September 11, 2024.
Anastacio was born on January 28, 1971, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Boxer is survived by his mother, Rosa Garza; his son, Esai “Taco” (Katrina) Cantu; his grandson, Esai Cantu Jr.; and his granddaughter, Ilah Cantu. He is also survived by his sister, Esther Galvan, and brother, Pete “Lucky” (Velvet) Cantu; nephews Danncer (Jessica) Cantu, Romeo Cantu, and Anthony Cantu; nieces Cecily (Julian) Garcia, Gabriella (John) Blackler, and Callie Cantu, along with 15 great-nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, and cousins , and held a special place in his heart for his H-town cousins who always supported him and loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, whom he loved deeply, Anastacio "Tacho" Cantu Jr. Boxer had an unwavering love for his hometown teams, the Houston Texans and Houston Astros and his favorite show "Friends” He also loved cooking and enjoyed creating his own recipes, often adding a “lil sum sum” to make them unique.
Known for his infectious laugh and deep loyalty, Boxer will be remembered for his generous heart, his sense of humor, and the pride he took in his loved ones.
