Angelita C. Hernandez, 77, was born on February 18, 1939 in Austin, Texas and was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 4, 2016 in Houston, Texas. Angelita was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. She was the Backbone of the Family and everyone's "Nana". Angelita was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Josephine Hernandez Benavidez; and her son, Richard Hernandez, Jr.. She leaves behind to cherish her memories her loving husband of 59 years, Richard Hernandez, Sr.; her son, Abel Hernandez & wife Crystal; her daughters, Sylvia Hernandez, Mary E. Ramos, Caroline Hernandez, Catherine Torres, and Rachael H. Salinas & husband Rudolph, Jr.; her brothers, Mike Castillo and Alfredo Castillo; her sister, Janie Jackson; 21 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; also many other relatives and friends. Angelita will be dearly missed by all those who love her.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2016 from 10am to 12pm, with a Rosary being recited at 12:15pm and a Funeral Service officiated at 1pm at The Compean Funeral Home Main Chapel. Interment will follow in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
