Armando Lichtenberger, Sr., 79, was born on September 30, 1937 in Alice, Texas and was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 23, 2017 in Houston, Texas. Mr. Lichtenberger, Sr., was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a very giving man and was never selfish. He could never sit still and had to always be working. The love and passion he had for music had him inducted to The Tejano Roots Hall of Fame in 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents George, Sr. & Rafaela Lichtenberger; his brothers, Ramiro Lichtenberger and Ricardo Lichtenberger; and his sister, Elia Ramos. Armando leaves behind to cherish his memories his loving wife of 60 years, Carmen Lichtenberger; his son, Armando Lichtenberger, Jr.; his daughters, Idalia Romero & husband Jimmy, Irma Lichtenberger, Imelda Varela & husband Christopher, and Irene Lichtenberger; his brothers, George Lichtenberger, Jr. and Jose Angel Lichtenberger; his sisters, Angelita Reyes, Margarita Deleon, Gloria Gonzalez, Noemi Lichtenberger, and Teresa Jaime; his grandchildren, David, Gabriel, James, Raina, Jose Alfredo, Michael, Johnny, Vincent, and Christopher Andrew; his great grandchildren, Davon, Neveah, Austin, Cesar, Katia, Roland, Abigail, Lyric, Ayden, Ethan, and Gloria. He will be dearly missed by all those who shared with him.
Visitation will take place on Monday, February 27, 2017 from 5pm to 9pm with a Rosary being recited at 7:30pm at The Compean Funeral Home Main Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 9:30am at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church (10727 Hartsook, Houston, TX 77034). Rite of Committal will follow in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.Visits: 87
