Betty Jane Messinger

1937 - 2017

Betty Jane Messinger was born on October 15, 1937 in Charleston, West Virginia. Betty entered eternal rest on September 22, 2017 in Houston, Texas while being surrounded by all of her loving family. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Moneita Shaffer & Elijah Paschal, her stepfather Ralph Frase; her son, Ricky Shaffer; and her sister, Carolyn Sue Frase. Betty is survived by her loving husband, Terry C. Messinger, with whom she shared 37 years of marriage; her sons, Randall Ray, Barry Speedy, Gary Speedy, & Craig Speedy; her daughters, Terri Weaver, & Sandy Speedy; her grandchildren, Angel, Jennie, Bryan, Mandy, Barry Jr., Tony, Stephanie, Michael, Courtney, Zachary, Shawna, Layna, Marvin Jr., Tara, Marla, Elizabeth, & John Jr.; her 30 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; and many more family members. Betty will be dearly missed by all those who shared with her in life.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 from 9am to 1pm at The Compean Funeral Home Family Chapel. Interment will follow after Funeral Service in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
