Catherine Ann Alaniz, 52, was born on April 22, 1964 in Houston, Texas and was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 12, 2016 in Houston, Texas. Catherine was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother; a woman of strong faith who loved to pray for people. She served missionary work, loved interior decorating, baking, and was an avid sports fan. She loved spending time with her family, specially during the holidays and she always put everyone else before herself. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert & Delfina Medrano. Catherine leaves behind to cherish her memories her loving husband of 33 years, Daniel Alaniz, Sr.; her sons, Daniel Alaniz, Jr. & wife Alejandra, Michael Anthony Alaniz & wife Carolina, and Joshua Eric Alaniz; her daughter, Jennifer Ann Gonzales & husband Robert; her brothers, Robert Medrano Jr., Raymond Medrano, Richard Medrano, Roland Medrano, and Ronald Medrano; her sisters, Carla "Linda" Aguilar, Brenda Robertson, and Roberta Ferrero; her grandchildren, Aaron Issac Alaniz, Jason Leo Alaniz, Natalia Sophia Alaniz, and Benjamin Robert Gonzales; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 from 2pm to 9pm with a Prayer Service at 7pm at The Compean Funeral Home Main Chapel. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 11am at The Compean Funeral Home Main Chapel. Interment will follow in Forest Park East Cemetery.
