Chris Marie Garcia, 45, born November 7, 1976, in San Antonio, Texas, passed away unexpectedly January 27, 2022, in Houston, Texas. Chris was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. Chris is survived by her husband Jesse Garcia; daughters Alyssa Raye Cisneros and Laura Jesse Cisneros; sons Chris Edward Garcia and Jesse Steve Garcia; grandchildren Jeremy James Cisneros, Avery Rose Jimenez, Matthew Joseph Jones, and Kairus Kash Peña; mother Teresa Cisneros; sisters Laura Bazan, Melissa Jimenez, Margarita Cisneros, Amanda Martinez, and Stephanie Ibanez; and numerous nieces and nephews. Chris is preceded in death by father Erasmo Cisneros and father-in-law Rolando Garcia.
Chris loved her family immensely and her passing leaves a tremendous void. The family gatherings will not be the same without her loving presence. Her diverse taste in music that played while she was drinking a cold one and cooking was her favorite thing to do. Chris was known for her cooking at every family event. Her menudo, pozole, and any dish you can think of, she made perfectly. She had a voice that could be heard above the loudest music. Chris loved to share her prideful stories about her kids and grandkids. They meant the absolute world to her. Her 5 cats, who she cared for since they were kittens, also shared our love for Chris. She gave selflessly to her family, especially her sisters who never hesitated to call when they needed advice, a favor, or just a laugh. Chris was devoted to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo where she worked for 17 years. During those years she made lasting friendships with her co-workers. Every Rodeo season she wore her best red lipstick and boots to help those around. She was dependable, hard-working, and outspoken. Chris helped save or improve the lives of 9 people by being an organ donor. It’s encouraged to register at Donate Life Texas to become an organ donor and be a hero like Chris. Her smile that captures the room. Her hugs that make you feel loved. Her laugh that is contagious. Chris is the strongest, most beautiful woman and she will forever be in our hearts.
Chris will be greatly missed by all who shared wonderful memories of and with her.
A visitation for Chris will be held on February 4, 2022, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Compean Funeral Home, 2102 Broadway Blvd, Houston, Texas 77012.
