Edgar Jenaro Martinez

Born May 11, 1982, Edgar Jenaro Martinez came to this world to spread kindness and joy. Both mischievous and angelic is how his two boys describe him. 

When asked about their favorite story of their father, both Adan and Ivan chuckled and recalled stories that their dad would not want included here. Needless to say, he brought lots of laughter to their lives and taught them how to be kind, strong and selfless. 

Our silent warrior, Edgar Martinez fought hard against cancer for almost two decades. He fought hard against this disease thanks to the love of his wife and children. He fought silently to give his two boys and family a somewhat "normal" life. 

Edgar was born in Houston, TX and was the first born of Jose and Maria del Rosario Martinez. His parents loved him like no other, and he went on to become an Engineering Tech at General Plastics & Composites where he began his career at the early age of 15. He worked there first cleaning parts in the make-ready department and then moved to the offices where he learned the ins and outs of engineering. He worked alongside his father for 25 years this year and Edgar was the sole inventor of one patent that aided the company in its success and co-developed two patents. 

His greatest accomplishment was being the father of two beautiful, baseball loving boys, Adan Alejandro and Ivan Daniel - 13 and 9 years old. Edgar was married for nearly 15 years to his beautiful wife Lilia Martinez, and had nearly 20 years together. They met at a party a few hours shy of Edgar's 21st birthday and the romance story began there. Edgar was a dedicated husband, loving father, son, brother, friend and protector.

He never missed an Astros game. His hobbies included being a baseball dad alongside the Houston Mustangs and Medina Baseball to watch his boys play. 

Edgar was brave, resilient, and a quiet  warrior. He was kind until the very end, always putting his fears and worries aside to protect others. 

It is no coincidence that he will be laid to rest on 11-11, which signifies spirit angels, synchronicity and God's perfect plan. Heaven has gained an angel.

He is celebrating the World Series win of his favorite team, the Houston Astros from up above.

Edgar, you are loved and you will be missed dearly by all of us. You will remain in our hearts and spirits forever.

He leaves behind to cherish and treasure his memories his loving wife, Lilia Martinez, his 2 sons, Adan Alejandro Martinez and Ivan Daniel Martinez, his parents, Jose & Maria del Rosario Martinez and his siblings, Rosalinda and Christian Martinez.

Nacido el 11 de mayo de 1982, Edgar Jenaro Martínez llego a este mundo a compartir su bondad y alegría. Tanto travieso como angelical es como sus dos hijos lo describen. 

Cuando se les pregunto sobre su historia favorita de su papa, Adan eh Ivan sonrieron y recordaron historias que su papa no quisiera incluir aqui. No hace falta decir que el les trajo muchas risas a sus vidas y les enseño como ser nobles, fuertes, y buenas personas.

Nuestro guerrero silencioso, Edgar Martínez lucho duro contra el cáncer por casi dos décadas. El lucho duro contra esta enfermedad gracias al amor de su esposa y sus hijos. Lucho silenciosamente para darles a sus dos hijos y familia una vida "normal". 

Edgar nacio en Houston, Texas y fue el primer hijo de Jose y Maria del Rosario Martinez. Sus padres lo amaban como a nadie, y fue a convertirse en un Ingeniero de tecnología en General Plastics & Composites y fue donde empezó su carrera a su corta edad de 15 años. Primero empezó limpiando partes en el departamento de preparación  y después se mudo a las oficinas donde aprendió los entresijos de ingeniería. Trabajo a un lado de su padre por 25 años ya este año y Edgar fue el inventor único de una patente que ayudo a la compañía en su éxito y codesarrolló 2 patentes. 

Su mayor logro fue convertirse en padre de dos hermosos niños, amantes del beisbol, Adan Alejandro eh Ivan Daniel - 13 y 9 años de edad. Edgar estuvo casado por casi 15 años con su amada esposa, Lilia Martínez, y estuvieron casi 20 años juntos. Se conocieron en una fiesta a varias horas de su cumpleaños número 21 y fue allí que comenzó su historia de amor. Edgar fue un esposo dedicado, padre amoroso, hijo ejemplar, hermano, amigo, y protector. 

Nunca se le pasaba un juego de los Astros. Sus pasatiempos incluían ser un padre de beisbol a un lado de los Houston Mustangs y Medina Baseball donde veía a sus hijos jugar.

Edgar fue valiente, resiliente, y un guerrero silencioso. Fue amable hasta el final, siempre poniendo sus miedos y preocupaciones a un lado para proteger a sus seres queridos.

No es coincidencia que será puesto a descansar el día 11 del mes 11, (11-11), que significa ángeles espirituales, sincronicidad, y plan perfecto de Dios. El cielo se a ganado un ángel. 

El esta celebrando la serie mundial de su equipo favorito, los Astros de Houston, desde allá arriba. 

Edgar, eres amado y serás extrañado por todos nosotros. Tu seguirás en nuestros corazones y espíritu por siempre.

El deja atrás a su esposa Lilia Martinez, sus hijos Adan Alejandro Martinez y Ivan Daniel Martinez, sus padres Jose y Maria del Rosario Martinez y sus hermanos Rosalinda y Christian Martinez.
