Elesia B. Valdez, 88, was born on December 29, 1929 in Inez, Texas and was called up to be with her Lord and Savior on February 1, 2018 in Houston, Texas.  Elesia was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.  She was strong willed but enjoyed life.  Elesia was known for her love of parties and dancing, always attending as many as she could, even to the occasional funeral.  She liked to gamble and visit the game rooms when possible.  But family was always her first priority, cooking and cleaning all the time, making sure her family was well taken care of. Elesia will be greatly missed by all who shared wonderful memories with her.  Elesia is preceded in death by her parents, Manuel Basquez and Antonia Perez; and her husband, Pablo G. Valdez.  She is survived by her son, Bobby Joe Valdez; her daughter, Gloria Castro; her brother, Manuel Basquez; her sister, Connie Vargas; her grandchildren, Jason Castro & wife Deborah, and Jannette Cruz & husband Joe; her great niece, Ashley Maldonado; her great grandchildren, Justin, Jenna, Jordan, Jasmine, and Joseph; her great great nephew, Caleb Diaz; and loved by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 from 4:00pm to 9:00pm with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00pm at the Compean Funeral Home Family Chapel.  A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 10:00am at Houston National Cemetery (10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, Texas 77038).
