Judge Frank Aguilar, beloved and respected member of the legal community, died on September 29, 2024 at the age of 66. Frank was born in Houston, Texas in 1957. He graduated from Chinquapin Preparatory School in Highlands, Texas in 1976 and completed undergraduate and post-graduate studies at Drake University in Iowa. He graduated from the University of Texas School of Law at Austin where he received his J.D. in 1985 and was licensed to practice law in Texas in 1985. His legal career includes prosecuting for both the Travis County District Attorney’s Office and the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. He then practiced criminal law in both state and federal courts, as well as serving as a magistrate for Harris County. He was elected as judge of the 228th Criminal District Court of Harris County, Texas in 2018 and was re-elected in 2022.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Soto Aguilar and Manuela Ramos Aguilar. Frank is survived by the following beloved: His former wife and mother of his daughter, Cynthia Rayfield-Aguilar. His sons Frank Alexander Aguilar and Ivan Gonzalez. His daughter, Machele Elise Aguilar and her husband, Colin Elwyn Harju. His three brothers, Robert Aguilar, Joe Aguilar, and David Aguilar. His dearly beloved sisters, Maria Yolanda Valle, Lillian Lopez, Rose Mary Garza, and Deborah Rittenhouse. Laura Cepeda, the mother of his sons and her oldest son, Roman Alonso.
