12/25/1935 ~ 09/28/2013
Born in the state of Nuevo Leon, Dona Gabriela spent her life between Houston and Matehuala, San Luis Potosi. She came to the U.S. in the 1960’s and settled in Houston’s East End. She was a tremendous hard worker and held various jobs to ensure she helped out her family and those in need. She was respected and loved by the countless families for whom she provided. She had compassion for others even in her most difficult days. She performed acts of kindness everywhere she went. And she never let anyone leave her house without eating or taking a “taco” to go. Her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews were left with a rich inheritance, her legacy.
Gabriela was laid to rest the morning of Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
She will be FOREVER missed.
SALMO 23
El Señor es mi pastor; nada me faltará.En lugares de delicados pastos me hará descansar;
Junto a aguas de reposo me pastoreará.
Confortará mi alma;
Me guiará por sendas de justicia por amor de su nombre.
Aunque ande en valle de sombra de muerte,
No temeré mal alguno, porque tú estarás conmigo;
Tú vara y tu cayado me infundirán aliento.
Aderezas mesa delante de mí en presencia de mis angustiadores;
Unges mi cabeza con aceite; mi copa está rebosando.
Ciertamente el bien y la misericordia me seguirán todos los días de
mi vida, Y en la casa del Señor moraré por largos días
