Gil F. Teran , 1942 - 2015 Obituary

A loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend.

Gil Feliciano Teran, age 73, born September 1, 1942, in Rancho Capitanes San Carlos, Tamaulipas, Mexico, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2015 in his home in Spring, Texas after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Gil was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Aurelio Teran and Ines Elvia Teran Esquivel; one younger brother, Jose Aurelio Teran. He is survived by his wife, Lily; children, Elvia, Juanita (S: Eliseo), Gil (S: Eyanira), Arthur (S: Juanita), Dora (S: Joseph), Luis (S: Blanca), Jose, Aurora (S: Albert), and Jesus, as well as 33 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Maria De Los Angeles, Josefina, Beatriz, Lilia, Modesto, Jesus, Ines, and Gabriela. Gil worked hard in the construction industry his entire life. He retired in May 2002. We remember Gil as a kind and generous man who loved being surrounded by his family. He enjoyed many family activities to include camping, cook-outs, storytelling, attending amusement parks, and he especially enjoyed tenderly holding the tiny hands of his grandchildren while sightseeing at the zoo. His love for his wife, his children, and his grandchildren was immeasurable. He taught us that love has no bounds and we should always respect and support one another especially in trying times. Additionally, he taught us a life lesson about courage. As he gallantly fought cancer in his final days, he always seemed to keep a positive attitude and make time to say “I love you”. He will be greatly missed. We invite family and friends to join us in a celebration of Gil’s wonderful life. A visitation will be held from 5:00 – 9:00 pm, Monday, November 2, 2015 at Compean Funeral Home Main Chapel, 2102 Broadway Blvd, Houston, TX 77012. A Mass of Catholic Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at the same location. The interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 8701 Almeda Genoa Road, Houston, TX 77075.
