Helen Renteria Acosta, 69, was born on February 26, 1947 in Houston, Texas and was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 5, 2016 in Houston, Texas. Helen was a loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother; she loved her friends and was a very selfless person. "Helen found great joy and happiness in serving others, especially those she loved." She will be dearly missed by all. Helen was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Renteria; her mother, Angela Lopez; and her brothers, Raymond Vernon Renteria and Ray Renteria. Survivors include her companion, Johnny Kadlecek; son, Alfred Leon Acosta & wife JoAnn; daughters, Alva Ann Lopez & husband Emilio, Gina Smith & husband Greg, and Veronica Acosta; brother, Rudy Renteria; sister, Christine Tellez; grandchildren, Leeann, Emily, Benjahmin, Laylah, Thomas, Carolina, Jacob, Isabella, Francisco, Jeremy Noel, and Nicholas; great grandson, Anthony; she is also survived by other relatives and friends.

The family would appreciate that donations may be made to The American Cancer Society "in lieu of flowers".

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2016 from 10am to 2pm witha Rosary being recited at 1pm at The Compean Funeral Home Main Chapel. Cremation will take place on a later day.
