Helen Valdez Alvarado, 66, was born on September 6, 1950 in Houston, Texas and was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 19, 2017 in Pasadena, Texas. Helen is survived by her mother, Maria Valdez; her sons, Joe Ray Martinez and Sam Simon Martinez; her daughters, Veronica Hernandez and Monica Marie Martinez; 1 brother; 7 sisters; her grandchildren, Malissa Marie Martinez, Anthony Ray Martinez, and Victoria Gutierrez; her great grandchildren, Lucero Martinez, Maleah Jade Whitten, Evalina Martinez, and Anthony Ray Martinez, Jr.; also survived by many other relatives and friends. Helen will be dearly missed by all those who shared with her in life.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 10am at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church (9217 Avenue L, Houston, TX 77012). Cremation will take place on a later day.
