Hilario Mata, Jr. 1933 - 2016

Hilario Mata, Jr., 82, was born on April 4, 1933 in Wharton, Texas and was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 19, 2016 in Houston, Texas. Hilario was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who taught his loved ones respect and responsibility; a hard working man who enjoyed music and playing accordion. Hilario is survived by his wife, Elvira R. Mata; his son, Eddie Mata & wife Nicole; his daughters, Manuela Garcia, Mary Jane Baca & husband Joe, Bernice Mata, Ruby Cortez & husband Jose Angel, and JoAnn Torres and husband Leonardo; his brother, Norbert Mata; his sister, Susie Mata; 20 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 22, 2016 from 4pm to 9pm with a Rosary being recited at 7:30pm at The Compean Funeral Home Main Chapel. Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 11am at The Compean Funeral Home Main Chapel. Interment will follow in Houston Memorial Gardens.
