Irma Esmeralda Ancira

Irma Esmeralda Ancira went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 16, 2024 at home surrounded by her family. Irma was born in Sinton, Texas on September 19, 1948 and was the first of 13 children. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1967. She was a member of the marching band where she played the flute. She married her high school sweetheart Paul in 1968. Irma worked as an Operating Room scheduler at Hermann Hospital for many years and later as a phlebotomist at Memorial Hermann Hospital. In her early years she enjoyed bowling and dancing. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially with her brothers & sisters. Irma had heart surgery in August 2023 and in May 2024 was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma brain tumor. Irma was a very strong woman and will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her children Michelle Ruiz and spouse Joel; Cynthia Alvarado and spouse Armando; Jacqlyn Garcia and spouse Joseph; Ryan Cano and spouse Vanessa. Irma is also survived by her grandchildren Brandon, Claudia & Olivia; Linda, Lauren & Caleb; Jordan, Joseph Jr., Julianne, & Greg; and Daniel, Ryan Jr., Joshua & A.J. Irma had 5 great-grandchildren; Agnes, Noah, Zoey, Scarlett & Azael. She is also survived by her siblings Mary Helen, Diana, Xavier, Norma & Adam. Irma is received into her eternal rest by her parents Jose R. Ancira & Maria Elena Ancira, brothers; Joe, Ricardo, Reynaldo, Albert & George and sisters; Linda & Laura.
