Jane Arden Davis, 81, was born on October 11, 1935 in Houston, Texas to James and Letha Davis and entered into eternal rest peacefully on November 1, 2016 while surrounded by her loved ones at her residence in Houston, Texas. She graduated from Jack Yates High School in 1955.

She accepted Christ at an early age at St Mary's Catholic Church. She met and married Charles E. Davis on August 11, 1956 and of this union 5 children were born. She worked in Retail for over 30 years (Weingarten's, Rice and Exxon) where she retired. She worked as a Customer Service Representative for Pilgrim's Cleaners until God chose a different path. She was truly a women of integrity and always kind to others and a mother to many. She was the matriarch for her children and grandchildren.

She will be missed greatly by the lives she touched daily. Her smile and positive spirit reached souls of many. She loved to cook, bake and watch basketball (Houston Rockets) and football. She loved to travel with her children and will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her mother Letha Walker, father James Davis, sisters Jimmie Lee Jones, Jean D Miller (twin sister) and Ageline Walker. She leave a legacy of love and precious memories to: three daughters, Gloria Cotton-Smith, Charsetta Semien(Emery), and Jocycelyn Davis-Cooper(Michael); two sons, John Davis(Sharon) and Charles Davis(Tronda); grandchildren, J. Maurice Williams, Stacy Cotton, Christopher Williams, Kortney Smith, Kierra Davis, Tyanna Davis, Ella Davis, and Jeremiah Davis; great grandchildren, Crystalyn Williams, Chaisten Williams, Tristan Cotton, Samiah Cotton, Cayden Williams, and Phoenix Williams; a host of nieces , nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Visitation will take place on Friday, November 4 from 5pm to 9pm with a Prayer Service at 7pm and a Funeral Service being held on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 11am at The Compean Funeral Home Main Chapel. Interment will follow in Houston Memorial Gardens.
