Joaquina Ruiz Solis, 67, was born on August 16, 1949 in San Luis Potosi, Mexico and was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 10, 2016 while surrounded by her loving family in Houston, Texas. Joaquina was an amazing Wife, Mother, and Grandmother with a Heart of Gold. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fermin Ruiz and Prajedes Mendoza and by her brother Modesto Ruiz. Joaquina is survived by her husband of 43 years, Hector Mario Solis, Sr.; her sons, Hector Solis, Jr. & wife Stephanie and Jose Fermin Solis & wife GabyNely; her daughters, Maria Sandra Linares & husband Robert and Quina Solis; her brothers, Jose Ruiz and Baltazar Ruiz; her grandchildren, Saraiah, Juan Carlos, Leslie Anai, Klarissa, Jose Xavier, Nicholas, Josephine, Jessica, Aaron, Alyssa, Logan Samuel, and Jacob Robert. She is also survived by many relatives and friends. Joaquina was loved by all and will be dearly missed.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, September 15, 2016 from 5pm to 9pm with a Rosary being recited at 7pm at The Compean Funeral Home Main Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 16, 2016 at 10am at Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
