Joe Ernest "JP" Puente, 52, was born on November 23, 1966 in Houston, Texas to Jose C. Puente and Ramoncita Salas and was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 14, 2019 in Cypress, Texas while surrounded by his loving family. JP was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend. He was known as a prominent voice of Tejano music in his hometown of Houston, Texas. He was the frontman for JP Y Sueno and was lead vocalist for Avizo in the 1980's, and was part of Grupo Fuerte and Los Big Katz. JP leaves behind to cherish his memories his loving wife of 30 years, Nancy Marie Puente; his daughter, Tracy Ponce & husband Juan; his grandchildren, Juan Andrew Ponce, Jonathan Joseph Ponce, and Evelyn Marie Ponce; his sisters, Agustina Pena and Mona Barrera & husband Jesse; his sisters in law, Donna Davila & husband Robert Barrera and Veronica Cornejo & husband Anthony; his best friend, Evelier Barron; he also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and numeros friends. His legacy will never be forgotten. JP will be dearly missed by all those who shared wonderful memories with him.
