Jorge Olvera

Jorge Olvera Gonzalez, 42, was born on March 9, 1974 in Houston, Texas and was called up to be with his Lord and Savior on May 26, 2016 in Houston, Texas. Jorge was a loving son, brother, uncle, cousin, and godfather. He had a great personality and touched many people with his positive attitude and selflessness. He loved to travel and would look forward to the next adventure. He was a strong and committed person. In 1996, he received his degree in Industrial Mechanical Engineering from El Tecnologico de Saltillo in Satillo, Mexico. He worked in the oil and gas industry as a refinery structural iron worker and journeyman for 15 years. He is preceded in death by his father, Jose Maria Olvera Flores; his paternal grandfather, Benjamin Olvera Valdez; his paternal grandmother, Elida Flores Sanchez; his maternal grandfather, Manuel Gonzalez Vasquez; and his maternal grandmother, Delfina Samaniego Campa. He is survived by his mother, Maria Del Refugio Gonzalez Samaniego; his sisters, Elida Margarita Olvera Gonzalez and Zaida Nelly Olvera Gonzalez & husband Azael Fuentes Guzman; his nieces, Elida Arali Valdes Olvera, Ana Karen Valdes Olvera, Daryela Fuentes Olvera, and Zaida Angela Fuentes Olvera, his nephew, Azael Fuentes Olvera; and his great niece, Michelle Balderas Valdes. Jorge was like a brother to everyone and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He will forever be our hearts.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 29, 2016 from 1pm - 6pm with a Rosary to be recited at 2pm and a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 4pm at The Compean Funeral Home Main Chapel. Cremation will take place at a later date.
