Jose Lewis Almendarez was born on July 13, 1952 in Houston, Texas to his loving parents, Robert H. Almendarez & Maria Dolores Garza. Jose was called Home on January 1, 2017 in Houston, Texas while being surrounded by his loving family. Jose is preceded in death by his parents, Robert & Maria Dolores Almendarez ; his brother, Raymond Almendarez; and his sister, Catherine Almendarez. Jose is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Rosa Lynn Almendarez; his sons, Jose Lewis Almendarez Jr., Ruben Eugene Almendarez, Paul Anthony Almendarez, and Noah Robert Almendarez; his daughter, Celina Araceli Almendarez; his brothers, Robert Almendarez, Victor Almendarez, Frank Almendarez, Jesse Almendarez, Larry Almendarez, David Almendarez, and Andrew Almendarez; his sister, Rosa Almendarez, and his grandchildren, Jose Almendarez III, Sebastian Almendarez, and Alisandra Almendarez. Jose will be greatly missed by all of those he shared life with.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 6, 2017 from 5pm- 9pm at The Compean Funeral Home Main Chapel. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 from 10am- 2pm at The Compean Funeral Home Main Chapel. Cremation will take place on a later day.
