Josephine Alvarez, 78, was born on November 6, 1936 in Houston, Texas and was called home to be with her "Lord and Savior" on June 22, 2015 in Houston, Texas. Josephine is preceded in death by her Father, Francisco Devora, Mother, Trinidad Devora; Daughter, Gloria Alvarez (1981); and Grandson, Jose Antonio Alvarez (2012). Survivors include: Sons, Antonio Alvarez, Alex Alvarez, Joe Alvarez, and Armando Alvarez; Daughters, Erlinda Alvarez and Susie Ramirez; Brother, Frank Devora; Sisters, Emily Nuncio and Julia Devora; 23 Grandchildren; 46 Great Grandchildren; and 4 Great Great Grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2015 from 4pm to 9pm with a Prayer Service at 7:00pm at The Compean Funeral Home Family Chapel. Funeral Service will take place on Monday, June 29, 2015 at 10am at The Compean Funeral Home Family Chapel. Interment to follow in Historic Hollywood Cemetery.
