Juan Hernandez, Jr. 1944 - 2015

Juan Hernandez, Jr., 71, was born on August 1, 1944 in Eagle Pass, Texas and was called home to be with his "Lord and Savior" on September 3, 2015 while surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Hernandez graduated San Jacinto High School in 1963. Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather. He was a proud veteran of The United States Marine Corps, serving as a Sergeant during the Vietnam Era. Mr. Hernandez was a member of VFW Post #8930 in Denver Harbor, Marine Corp League and VFW Post #492. He is preceded in death by his beloved Parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hernandez and his Grandson, Phillip Adam Garcia, Jr.. Survivors include his Wife of 47 years, Zulema Hernandez; his Son, Carlos Hernandez; his Daughter, Sonia Garcia & husband Phillip, Sr.; his Brother, Jesus "Jesse" Hernandez; his Sisters, Ernestina Rodriguez and Atanacia Salinas; his Grandchildren, Juan Carlos Hernandez, Oscar Garcia, and Selena Garcia; and his Great Grandchildren, Gonzalo, A'lani, Avah, Emily, Nathan, Andrew, Aleya, and Noah.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 from 5pm to 9pm with a Rosary being recited at 7pm at The Compean Funeral Home Main Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at 10am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church (7539 Avenue K, Houston, TX 77012) . Rite of Committal will follow in Houston National Cemetery where Mr. Hernandez will be laid to rest with full military honors.
