Kenneth Vosloh of Houston, Texas passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, May 30, 2016. Kenneth was born in Houston, Texas on January 8, 1957. He attended Milby High School. Kenneth was a son, brother, uncle and a craftsman. He excelled at everything he set his mind to there was nothing he could not do; he loved a challenge. In 1977 he started working with HL&P Power Company (now NRG, Inc) and gave 39 years for service. He was a Master Welder, Steam Turbine Mechanic and Gas Turbine Mechanics now as a Head Operator, Ken was looking forward to making his retirement plans in the next 1-2 years. He was a mentor to many people they looked up to him he accumulated many friends during those years. He is a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Worker (IBEW) Local No. 66 Union. He married his childhood sweetheart Mary Andrews in November 1982; they have been together for 40 years. They enjoyed life and laughter together till the end. Above all Kenneth had a child-like joy and appreciation of anything natural and beautiful and showered those he loved with praise for the smallest of gestures. To be in his presence was to feel loved, appreciated and special. He had a love for motorcycles, fast muscle cars, cooking, gardening and entertaining. Everyone will miss Kenneth’s boiled spicy crawfish and etouffee. He lived life to the fullest and he did it his way. He never met a stranger and always had a smile on his face. For those rare traits and many more he will be tremendously missed by all who knew and loved him.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Mary Vosloh, parents, Jean & Harold Vosloh; his sister, Kathy Vosloh Freeman & husband Daniel; his nephew, Benjamin Freeman; and many cousins. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 11, 2016 from 3pm to 5pm at The Compean Funeral Home Main Chapel (2102 Broadway, Houston, TX 77012). Followed by a reception at Park Grocery at 8339 Park Terrace, Houston, TX 77017. Dress comfortable this is not a funeral this is a “Celebration of Life”; come toast Kenneth and bring your stories to share with all.Visits: 16
