Lucila Gutierrez Martinez, 99, was born on September 13, 1916 in Doctor Gonzalez, Nuevo Leon, Mexico and was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 23, 2016 at her residence in Houston, Texas while surrounded by her loved ones. Lucila was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Great Great Grandmother; a fun and loving person who enjoyed life; hardworking homemaker woman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lino J. Martinez (October 26, 1978); her daughter, Maria de Jesus Garza (February 3, 1998); and grandson, Gabriel F. Muti (August 3, 2010). Lucila is survived by her sons, Ovidio H. Martinez, Roberto G. Martinez, Lino J. Martinez, Jr. and wife Dora, and Juan "Johnny" Martinez & wife Belinda; her daughter Graciela "Gracie" Muti & husband David; 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 from 5pm to 9pm with a Rosary being recited at 7pm at The Compean Funeral Home Main Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at 10am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
