Manuel Lara Martinez, 74, was born on August 8, 1943 in Ballinger, Texas and was called up to be with his Lord and Savior on October 8, 2017 in Houston, Texas.  Manuel was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.  He enjoyed being outdoors fishing and hunting or building projects from scratch.  Manuel was a big sports fan, always watching every game supporting his teams.  He loved reading the bible and attending church regularly.  Manuel's faith was very strong, he believed in family and was a wonderful provider.  Manuel will be greatly missed by all who shared wonderful memories with him and will not be forgotten.  Manuel is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel & Facunda Martinez; his son, Louis Martinez; and his brothers, Rudolf Martinez and Antonio Martinez.  He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Angela T. Martinez; his daughter, Shelley Martinez; his grandchildren, Alexandra Yale, Francesca Martinez, and Manuel "Manny" Martinez; and his great grandchildren, Lillian Grace Yale, Isabelle Hope Yale, and Zachary Walter Martinez.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 13, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm with Brother Paul Gwosdz officiating at The Compean Funeral Home Family Chapel.  A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 11:00 am officiated by Pastor Mike Carlen at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
