Maria Garcia Escobar

03/28/1930 - 05/02/2014     Maria Garcia Escobar, 84, was born on March 28, 1930 in Realitos, Texas & was called home to be with her "Lord & Savior" on May 2, 2014 while at home surrounded by her loving family in her home of over 50 years.  She loved gardening, cooking, crocheting, good music, and most of all being with her loving family. A loving wife, a mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, and sister. She is preceded in death by her Daughter, Dana Marie Escobar. She is survived by her husband of 64 years Arturo M. Escobar of Palito Blanco, TX. Five sons,  Arthur G. Escobar & his wife Kathryn, Xavier Escobar Sr. & his wife Julie, Norbert Escobar, Norman J. Escobar, Sr., & Rolando G. Escobar & his wife Maria; one stepson Porfirio Escobar  III & his wife Maria; 14 grandchildren; 22 great -grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, May 6, 2014, from 5-9pm with a Rosary to be recited that evening at 7:30pm in the Main Chapel of Compean Funeral Home.
