Maria Elena "Nena" Gayton

Maria Elena “Nena” Gayton, age 53, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2024, surrounded by her family and friends.

She was born June 7, 1970 in Fresno, California. She is survived by her loving parents, Leo and Lydia Gaytan, her brother Leo and her 2 sisters, Cynthia Lopez (Frank) and Carolyn Cisneros (Michael) and her sister in law, Laura Loredo. Nena had 2 nephews, Adam and Adrian and 4 nieces who were the lights of her life! Avery Ramon (Alfredo), Vanessa Gaytan, Trinity Lopez and Isabella Cisneros.  Nena is also survived by her loving partner, Nanette Sandoval. She had numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends who she considered family…especially “The Fellas”. 

Nena was employed by United for over 20 years and loved to travel! She especially loved going to casinos and the beach. She also loved baseball and everyone knew she was the biggest Astros fan around. 

Anyone who knew Nena knows she was the life of the party.  She was so funny and always made everyone laugh.  Whether she was dancing around or doing karaoke, she made sure everyone had a good time.  She truly lit up any room she walked into.  She had the biggest heart and will be missed by everyone who knew her.  Nena will never be forgotten.
