Marta Elsa Torres
Born in San Diego, Texas on July 29, 1938, to Isabel and Jose Sanchez. Marta went to heaven on Sunday January 22, 2023, at the age of 84.
She was a devoted housewife, mother, and grandmother. She loved to dance to her favorite Ramon Ayala songs, watch her now memorized TV novelas, take pride in her homemade tortillas, and above all she loved to spend time with her family. She has always put the Family first and foremost in her life. Whether it be cooking for them or caring for their children or just being a shoulder to cry on to ease the many burdens of life. Marta was known to be a strong force who many sought out to talk to and forget about their worries and they knew that they would be listened to and cared for. She would so often give of herself to her family in many ways in a way that reflected the God she followed. She was without a doubt the gentlest and forgiving soul that would never hold any ill will towards anyone. She was beloved by any who had the pleasure of knowing her and she will be missed deeply by those she has loved and impacted along the way. She will always be remembered as the rock that her family was built on and that foundation and the love, she has given her family will never be forgotten.
Marta is preceded in death by her parents and brother Jesus Sanchez. She is survived by her loving lifetime partner Juan Soliz of 45 years; Lovingly remembered by her six children and their spouses, Yolanda and Jesus Hernandez, Joe Torres, Celia and Antonio Hernandez, Esther and Oscar Piche, Jaime and Irina Torres, Javier and Tanhia Torres, thirty-two grandchildren, fifty-six great grandchildren, seven great great-grandchildren, brother Jose Sanchez, Sisters Maria Garza, Isabel Garza, Idalia Aguiniga, Imelda Vera; and many other relatives, nephews, nieces, and friends.
