Mary Ellen De La Garza

Mary Ellen De La Garza was born on May 5, 1926 in San Antonio, TX. to parents Jesus Perales & Sofia Chile. She joined the angels in Heaven on February 26, 2014 at the age of 87. Mary is preceded in death by her parents Jesus & Sofia Perales; son, Salomon Jr.; daughter, Esther Chris De La Garza; brothers, Jesse & Leroy Perales and four sisters, Francis Sarabia, Aurora Huizar, Janie Gonzalez & Sara Pompa.

Mary had a passion for crocheting and loved completing her crossword puzzles. With such a loving and wonderful spirit she will never be forgotten.

She is survived by her 3 daughters, Sylvia Abaza & husband Sami, Sophie Hernandez, Mary Ellen Lamas and husband Teodoro; 1 brother, Daniel Perales; 1 sister, Marie Kegal; 12 grandchildren, Manuel & Samuel Torres, Alberto Nieto, Laura Bueno, Nicholas Abaza, Arthur Martinez, Raul & Rebecca Hernandez, Mark Anthony De La Garza, Teodoro Lamas Jr. and Paula & Mateo Lamas and 8 great-grandchildren.

A visitation for Mary will be held on Saturday, March 1st, 2014 from 3pm - 9pm with a Rosary to be recited at 6pm in the Compean Funeral Home Main Chapel.

GOD SAW YOU

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be so he put his arms around you and whispered, Come to Me. With tearful eyes we watch you and saw you pass away and although we loved you dearly we could not make you stay.

A Golden heart stopped beating hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove us he only takes the best.
