He is survived by his wife of 21 yrs., Petra M. Vela; Sons, Octavio Vela III & Luis Vela; Daughter, Karina Izamar Vela; Parents, Octavio Vela Sr. & Maria Felix Pruneda; Brothers, Jose Vela, Juan Vela & Israel Vela; Sisters, Maria Erica Vela, Sandra Vela, Lilia Vela & Lizeth Vela. Visitation will begin Wednesday, January 29, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at Compean Funeral Home Main Chapel with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
