Olga Ruiz, 71, was born on September 25, 1949 in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico and was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 7, 2020 in Houston, Texas.  Olga was a dedicated wife and mother; she especially loved being a grandmother!  She was a hardworking and caring person that enjoyed the simple pleasures of cooking, thrift shopping, and playing loteria.  She also enjoyed chatting with family and friends and watching the Astros play.  Although she came from a humble home she always gave without asking for anything in return. If you were in trouble, she was always the first to offer help. If you need somewhere to stay, she would make room.  If you needed something to eat, well she over fed you.  She took care of everyone, and their kids.  Her door was always open as she treasured family and friendship above all else and always wanted everyone together. She always found a way to encourage people, comfort them and keeping them in line. She always told you the truth even if it wasn’t something you wanted to hear. She was adored by many. Some even go as far as calling her mom and friends that admired her call her Doña Olga. She was preceded in death by her father, Dionicio Salinas; her mother, Gregoria Garcia; her brother, Baldemar Salinas; also her sister, Chabela Balderas.  Olga leaves behind to cherish and treasure her memories her loving husband of 51 years of marriage, Jose Antonio Ruiz; her sons, Joe "Nune" Louis Ruiz & wife Esther and Victor Ruiz; her daughter, Nereida "Nery" Ruiz Merchant & husband David; her grandchildren, Elleza Merchant, Alexandra Merchant, and Victor, Jr.; her brothers, Joel Salinas, Leonel Salinas y Natividad Salinas; she also leaves behind many other relatives and numerous friends. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts!

Olga Ruiz, 71, nació el 25 de septiembre de 1949 en Matamoros, Tamaulipas, México y fué llamada a Casa de Nuestro Señor y Salvador Jesucristo el 7 de diciembre del 2020 en Houston, Texas.  Olga fué una esposa y madre dedicada; amaba especialmente ser abuela!  Ella era una persona cariñosa y trabajadora que disfrutaba de placeres simples como cocinar, comprar en segundas y jugar lotería.  También disfrutaba de largas conversaciones con su familia y amigos y ver a los Astros jugar.  A pesar de venir de una familia humilde, Olga siempre dió todo sin esperar nada a cambio.  Si tenías algú problema, ella siempre era la primera en ofrecerte ayuda.  Si necesitabas donde quedarte, ella te hacía un espacio.  Si necesitabas algo que comer, bueno pues ella siempre te alimentaba y de más.  Ella siempre cuidó de todos y de los hijos de todos.  Sus puertas siempre estaban abiertas porque atesoraba la familia y sus amistades sobre todas las cosas y siempre quería que todos estuvieran juntos.  Siempre encontraba la manera de alentar a la gente, darles consuelo y mantenerlos en línea.  Olga siempre decía la verdad aunque no fuese algo que quisieras escuchar.  Muchos la adoraban; algunos hasta la llamaban Mamá y amigos que la admiraban la llamaban Doña Olga.  Le preceden en vida.  su padre, Dioniocio Salinas; su madre, Gregoria Garcia; su hermano, Baldemar Salinas; también su hermana, Chabela Balderas.  Le sobreviven para atesorar sus recuerdos su amado esposo con el que compartió 51 años de matrimonio, Jose Antonio Ruiz; sus hijos, Je "Nune" Louis Ruiz y esposa Esther y Victor Ruiz; su hija, Nereida "Nery" Ruiz Merchant y esposo David; sus nietos, Elleza Merchant, Alexandra Merchan y Victor, Jr.; sus hermanos, Joel Salinas, Leonel Salinas y Natividad Salinas; también le sobreviven muchos otros familiares y un gran número de amistades.  Olga vivirá por siempre en nuestros corazones!
