Oscar Barrera De La Rosa, 67, was born on January 15, 1951 in Valadeces, Tamaulipas, Mexico to Oscar De La Rosa and Severa Barrera and entered into eternal rest on July 21, 2018 in Kindred, Louisiana.  Oscar was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend;  and a devoted son who was there for his mother until the very end.  He enjoyed barbecuing and being the life of the party.  Oscar loved to joke around and his trips to the casino; he also loved working in his truck.  Oscar leaves behind to cherish and treasure his memories his loving wife of 48 years of marriage, Nancy Mercedes De La Rosa; his sons, Ernest Arce, Anthony Arce & wife Adriana, and Oscar De La Rosa, Jr. & wife Krystal; his daughters, Connie Martinez and Sabrina Solares & husband Ronny; his brother, Arnaldo De La Rosa; his sister, Alicia Delgao; his 14 grandchildren, Ernest III, Nancy, Nicholas, Ashley, Sam, Selena, Amanda, Anthony, Michael, Tiffany, Brianna, Gisslle, Braylon, and Kassidy; 19 great grandchildren; also many other relatives and friends.  Oscar will be dearly missed by all those who he touched.

Times: 5:00pm - 9:00pm

Prayer Service:  7:00pm

Location:  Compean Funeral Home Main Chapel

Cremation will take place on a later day.
