Pedro "Pete" Junior Mejia, 49, was born in Pasadena, Texas on December 14, 1971 to Pedro A Mejia and Irene Mejia. Sadly, we lost a True Hero, Leader, and Role Model on February 6,2021.
Pete Mejia graduated from South Houston High School in 1990. He joined the Military out of High School to serve in the United States Army, where he was deployed on three different occasions rising to the rank of First Sergeant. In 2005, Pete began working at Pasadena Police Department, serving in various roles: Uniformed Patrol, DWI Task Force, and as an Investigator in the Narcotics Division. Building new Friendships and a Brotherhood along the way. Not only as an avid sports watcher Pete also contributed his time coaching for a Pasadena youth league football team for 13 years. Pete loved Hooters Hot wings with a few Big Daddy Bud lights, His love for the Dallas Cowboys was known and shown "True Blue!". He loved music, grilling, and was mom's great handyman. He was all about his family and friends. Pete was loved and respected by all. He was a loving Son, Father, Brother, Uncle, and a Great Friend to many. His smile and laughter will be dearly missed.
Pete was preceded in death by his father, Pedro A Mejia; also by his grandparents, Pedro Mejia, Sr. and Dolores Mejia. He leaves behind to cherish and treasure his memories his loving mother, Irene Mejia; his maternal grandparents, Juan & Maria Salazar; his daughters, Julianna Jolie Mejia and Ceylan Santos; his brother, Danny Mejia & wife Claudia Yu Mejia; his sisters, Maria D. Montes & husband Manuel Montes, Sally Munos & husband Alex Munos; "Favorite" sister, Jessica Villegas & husband Anthony Villegas; adopted sister, Olivia Salazar; his nephews and nieces, Samuel Abernathy & fiancé Lisa Guerrero, Israel R. Mejia, Isis A Munos, Aviah A Munos, Danny Jr Mejia, Zoey A Munos, Alex A Munos, and Ivan Mejia, and Lucas D. Mejia; his great niece and nephews, Hayley Rose Abernathy and Gabriel Cage Abernathy; his girlfriend, Janette Estrada; he also leaves behind his blue family and many other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at 11am at Grace Church Houston. Interment will follow in South Park Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
