Robert Ray Vaesa

After a brave and lengthy battle with cancer, Robert Ray Vaesa went to his final rest with his childhood sweetheart, best friend, and wife of 45 years, Gloria (Oropeza) Vaesa, beside him. Born on November 1, 1951 to parents Martin Vaesa Sr. and Teresa Vaesa (both deceased). Robert Is survived by 3 daughters Leticia Vaesa and fiancé (Daniel Enriquez), Laurie Perez and husband (Felix), and Lisa Rae and husband (Adrian). His life has been blessed with 4 grandsons; Julian and Edward Espinoza, Mark Perez, and Adrian Aries Rodriquez, 3 granddaughters; Mariah and Felicity Perez, Athena Rodriquez, and 1 great granddaughter; Leilani Espinoza. Robert is survived by his loving siblings (Sister) Linda Cuevas and husband Joe, (Sister) Ruth Garcia and husband Leo, (Brother) Martin Vaesa Jr., (Sister) Terry Nimroozi and husband Rahim, (Brother) Victor Vaesa and wife Mary, (Sister) Betty Jo Cantu and husband (Jesse), (Brother) Ricky Vaesa. 7 nephews, 9 nieces and their children. In addition to many other relatives and close friends that have supported Robert during his courageous fight, the family wishes to thank the 'Blind Scoop Groupies' at The West Gray Multi Service Center, V.I.A. (Visually Impaired Advocates), The F.F.B. (Foundation Fighting Blindness) and The Houston Council of the Blind. Being associated with these special groups gave Robert such joy. "R.V." is in the house! he is restored by his Loving Father in heaven and is dancing again. Amen!

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2017 from 5pm to 9pm with a Rosary being recited at 7pm at The Compean Funeral Home Main Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 10am at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church (4015 Sherman, Houston, TX 77003). Rite of Committal will follow in Forest Park East Cemetery.
