Romelia Chapa de Anaya, 69, was born on January 3, 1952 in Agualeguas, Nuevo Leon, Mexico and was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 2, 2021 in Houston, Texas. She fought an extraordinary battle with Glioblastoma after her devastating diagnosis 2017. Her will to live led her to conquer four years.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She was a devout Catholic and prayed for her family, every day. Romelia enjoyed cooking meals for everyone and making her famous rice for the family to enjoy. Most of all, she adored her children and especially her grandchildren. She was a kind, generous, and a fun-loving soul. We will always remember her beautiful smile and presence.
She was preceded in death by parents, Jose Chapa and Josefa Gonzalez; and her siblings, Maria Ventura Guajardo, Hermilo Chapa, Ignacio Chapa, and Pepe Chapa.
Romelia leaves behind to cherish her memories her loving husband of 44 years, her husband Jose Manuel Anaya; her children, Jose Manuel Anaya, Jr. & wife Perla, Fabian Anaya, and Monica Anaya Nero & husband, Richard; her siblings, Pablo Chapa, Maria Cruz Abramo, Maria Elena Ruiz, Blanca Ramirez, and Armando Chapa; her
grandchildren, Ximena Anaya, Aaron Anaya, Isabel Nero, Juliana Nero, and Mia Grace Nero. She is also survived by her numerous sister and brother-in-laws, nephews, nieces, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and a large extended family and friends.

Romelia Chapa de Anaya, de 69 años, nació el 3 de enero de 1952 en Agualeguas, Nuevo León, México y fue llamada a casa para estar con su Señor y Salvador el 2 de septiembre de 2021 en Houston, Texas. Luchó una valiente batalla extraordinaria contra el cáncer de glioblastoma después de ser diagnosticada en 2017. Su voluntad de vivir la llevó a conquistar cuatro años.
Ella era una amorosa esposa, madre, abuela, hermana, tía, prima y amiga. Era una católica devota y rezaba por su familia todos los días. Romelia disfrutó cocinando comidas para todos y haciendo su famoso arroz para que la familia lo disfrutara. Sobre todo, adoraba a sus hijos y especialmente sus nietos. Ella era un alma amable, generosa y amorosa. Siempre recordaremos su hermosa sonrisa y presencia.
Ella fue precedida en la muerte por sus padres, Jose Chapa y Josefa Gonzalez; y sus hermanos, Maria Ventura Guajardo, Hermilo Chapa, Ignacio Chapa, and Pepe Chapa.
