Roy Guerrero, 84, of Houston, Texas, peacefully passed away on his birthday, December 29, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born in San Antonio, Texas, on December 29, 1940, Roy led a life defined by faith, family, and unwavering devotion to those he held dear. A cherished husband, father, and grandfather, Roy was known for his strong work ethic and traditional values, always providing for his family with love and dedication.
Roy had a passion for Tejano music, dancing, and was an avid supporter of the Houston Astros and Texans. He enjoyed traveling, with memorable trips to San Antonio, Indiana, Chicago, and the occasional cruise. He was preceded in death by his beloved daughters, Lydia Vasquez and Belinda Cortez, and his son, Michael Salazar.
Roy is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Rachel R. Guerrero; his sons, Lawrence Salazar and wife Virginia, Daniel Salazar Sr. and wife Rosalinda, and Roy Guerrero Jr. and wife Sophia; his daughter, Nichole Martinez and husband Adam; and his sister, May June Sutton. His legacy lives on through 24 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life.
Roy’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will forever be cherished, and his love will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
