Rumaldo Gonzales, Jr. 60 years old passed away on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 in Houston. He was born May 10, 1960, in Edinburg, Texas. Rumaldo was an Electrician and an A/C Technician. He graduated from Texas State Technical Institute in Harlingen, Texas. He attended Pan American University and majored in education. He was a member of HopeCity-West Campus Church in Houston. He worked for DuVal Sulfur Mining Plant in Pecos, Texas for several years. He returned to the Rio Grande Valley where he started his air conditioning and refrigeration business. He then moved to Houston in 2002 and worked for numerous companies. Rumaldo was an incredibly kind and giving man. He continuously helped people whenever he was provided the opportunity to do so. He was a selfless man, always considerate of others and their needs before his own, regardless of whether it was his children, a relative, or a man on the street. Rumaldo was a humble and honorable hardworking man his entire life. He was a generous and loving man who came to know Christ in the latter months of his life and was an inspiration to his children because of it. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
Rumaldo was preceded in death by his father Rumaldo Gonzalez. He is survived by his sons Christian A. Gonzalez of Channelview and Daniel R. (Sandy) Gonzalez of San Antonio and his daughter Alexis A. Gonzalez of Houston. His ex-wife and friend Susan Rico. His mother Celia Gonzalez, his sisters Maria Gonzalez, Rosalinda Bush and brothers Ricardo Gonzalez and Joe Gonzalez. Many nieces and nephews including Joel Flores of San Antonio, Isaiah and Seth Rodriguez, Rocklee Rico and Justin Gonzalez. Funeral Services will be Wednesday April 7, 2021 at Compean Funeral Home. Family viewing from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. public viewing from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a Christian service at 6:30 p.m.
