1959 - 2021

Sammy Gallegos, 61, was born on August 1, 1959 in Houston, Texas and was called up to be with his Lord and Savior on January 23, 2021 in Houston, Texas.  Sammy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend.  He loved his family and was a great provider.  Sammy retired from AT&T after working 41 years.  He was a huge sports fan, supporting all Houston sports teams. He was preceded in death by his father, Joaquin T. Gallegos; and his daughter, Allison M. Gallegos.  Sammy leaves behind to cherish his memories, his mother, Rachel Gallegos; his loving wife of 33 years, Maria O. "Oreo" Gallegos; his daughters, Christina Ann Sumner & husband Frank, Jennifer Ann Zarate & husband Fernando Castaneda, Samantha Ann Hernandez, Ashley Marie Gallegos, and Amber Marie Gallegos; his siblings, JoAnn Perez (Gonzalo), MaryAnn Flores (Al), Rita Ann Gallegos (Joe Castillo), Angelo Gallegos (Veronica), and Lee Gallegos (Mara); his grandchildren, Xavier Frank Sumner, Jimmy Nathan Zarate, Jr., Zoey Jane Zarate, Eliza Ann Hernandez, Xander Frank Sumner, Layla Ailis Hernandez, and Xane Frank Sumner; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.  Sammy will be greatly missed by all who shared wonderful memories with him.
