Sammy Sosa, 54, took the hands of his "Lord & Savior" on July 29, 2013 while his family was at his side. Sam was born in Eagle Lake, TX. October 25, 1958 to parents Pedro Sosa & Cecilia Pena. He is preceded in death by his Father: Pedro Garza Sosa & Brother: Danny Sosa. He leaves behind to cherish his memories his Loving wife of 34yrs., Anita Sosa; Son: Roland Michael Sosa; daughters: Samantha Deanne Solis Cruz & Rebecca Denise Sosa; brothers: Pedro Jr., Albert & Richard Sosa; sisters: Brenda Santiago & Cynthia Sosa and his 2 beautiful grandchildren: Michael Roland Sosa & Leilani Marie Sosa. Sam cherished his children dearly and enjoyed visiting the crew at HFD's station 23. He will be forever remembered.

A visitation with the family will be held on Friday, August 2, 2013 from 3pm-9pm with a rosary to be recited by Deacon Raul Navarro at 7pm in the Compean Main Chapel. Funeral Services will begin at 10am on Saturday, August 3, 2013 and will be officiated by Deacon Raul Navarro in the Main Chapel. A final visitation will be held one hour prior to funeral services on Saturday morning. Interment will follow in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
