Thelma Beatriz Moreno

On June 26, 2022 our beautiful sister, mother, wife, cousin and friend passed away peacefully at her home in Houston, Texas.  Thelma Beatrice Moreno was born in El Paso on August 2, 1965. Throughout her life, she successfully worked in various professional firms and organizations and made an impression with her heart and smile wherever she went.

When she was 21, she met and later married the love of her life, Eugenio Guzman and together raised their loving son Christian. Thelma had a passion for all things folkloric and Mexican culture. She is well known for dancing in various folkloric dance groups such as Grupo Aztlan, Grupo Zapata and Fiesta Texas Festival Folklorico. During that time, she inspired so many young dancers. Her poise and elegant form was a sight to behold. After her dance career, she dedicated herself to folkloric style jewelry and making other arts and crafts inspired by our Mexican life and history. Thelma was known for her infectious smile and her peaceful and compassionate spirit.

Thelma was preceded in death by her father Efren and her mother Bertha. She is survived by her husband Eugenio, her son Christian, her brothers Efren and Alfredo and her sister Chiquis.
