Thomas Galdiano Trejo

October 21, 1936 — March 3, 2025

Thomas Galdiano Trejo was born on October 21, 1936 in Houston, Texas to Isabel Trejo and Tomasa Galdiano. He was called to be with our Lord on March 3, 2025.

He was raised in the Magnolia area and attended De Zavala and Edison in the HISD school district. He left school at an early age and married Virginia. Together they had a son Roy who was born in 1957. They moved to Chicago for a short time and later divorced before returning to Houston, Texas. Thomas loved living in Chicago and often talked about his days as an elevator operator. Thomas later met his wife Esperanza Gallegos and they were married in 1962. They had four daughters, Rosalie, Esther, Patricia and Cynthia.

Thomas enrolled in Barber college shortly after and worked for several barbers before deciding to branch out and open his own business, Trejo’s Barbershop. He was a very hard working, well known and respected barber in the East End / Magnolia area. He loved to go to work and meet people. Many of his clients became his best friends. When he wasn’t working you could find him jogging around the track at Stephen F Austin. He loved to exercise and loved running! Thomas took great pride in his appearance and loved clothes and shoes, especially his Stacey Adams! He had a big love for 1950’s music, but also loved Michael Jackson and Pink. Thomas could strike up a conversation with anyone at any time and loved to talk politics! At home, he loved to watch the news, Judge Judy, Price is Right and Cops. He also loved to scroll through Facebook and watch You Tube videos of his favorite songs.

Thomas enjoyed sports, especially his Astros and Houston Texans! He was a loving father and loved to gather with his family and grand kids, especially during the spring and summer months, as he was not a fan of cold weather. He had a giant personality and could be silly and funny one moment and serious the next. He had so many life long friends that continued to visit and call him. He also had many friends and was very popular at Nuevo Vida apartment complex where many friends would come by to visit him on a daily basis.

Thomas was a very faithful and religious man. He loved going to church and believed deeply in Jesus Christ. He was very content in the end and could not wait to be in the arms of our Lord. He will be deeply missed by his friends and family.

Thomas is survived by daughters Rosalie Trejo, Esther Gonzales ( Angel), and Cynthia Trejo. Brother Tony Trejo, 7 grandchildren, Alan, Matthew, Dylan, Emily, Isabella, Ariella and Charles. Great grandchildren, Ian Mendoza and Devlin Mendoza.

Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, Isabel Trejo and Tomasa Galdiano. Brothers Benito Trejo, Felix Trejo, Edward Trejo, Roy Trejo and Johnny Trejo.
