Valentin Ibañez
1955 ~ 2017
Valentin Ibañez, Jr., 62, was born on April 18, 1955 in Pharr, Texas to Valentin and Elida (Flores) Ibañez, he grew up with his beloved paternal Grandmother, Maria. Valentin was called home on the evening of Sunday, November 12, 2017, in Houston, Texas, he was surrounded by his loving family. Valentin is survived by his wife, Nicolasa of 33 years, daughters Sandy, Roxanne and Cassandra and his favorite and only grandchild, Alaina, sisters Elva, Juana, Melida and Cora, brothers Jesse, Reynaldo and Roel, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Valentin was a loving, caring and supportive father, grandfather, husband and friend to so many, he was a humorous man with a trick up his sleeve, he always wore a smile, made an effort to make those around him happy and positive minded, and knew what to say to make one feel better. He always stressed to be “positive”, he lived life to the fullest, did what he wanted when he wanted, never let anything hold him back, he was born a go-getter, full of dreams and ambition which he passed down to his three daughters and granddaughter. Vale, as so many affectionately called him, was a generous man, when friends or family needed his help he was there ready to assist in any way he could. Valentin loved building things and working with his hands, he always had to be in charge so he was, he led a successful remodeling and construction business for over 20+ years until he was forced to stop due to his illness. Valentin enjoyed spending time with his daughters and granddaughter, telling stories of his childhood, singing, playing and telling jokes, and teaching Alaina karate. One of Vale’s greatest traits was that he accepted people for who they were, never judgmental and literally wore his heart on his sleeve. Valentin will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew and loved him. A time of gathering will be held on Saturday, November 18, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Compean Funeral Home in Houston, Texas.
