Viola Marie Muniz, 69, passed away peacefully after a brief illness with Covid, and is now heading home to our Heavenly Father on September 5, 2021. Viola was born on November 2, 1952 at St. Joseph Hospital in Houston, Texas to late Antonio P. Gonzales & Surviving Loving Mother, Amparo T. Gonzales. She leaves behind to cherish her memories her loving husband of 49 years, Richard N. Muniz Sr.; her sons, Richard N. Muniz Jr. & wife Cindy, and Christopher Muniz. She is survived by her siblings, Rosemary & husband Rick Rodriguez, Jo Ann & husband Greg Nelson, James & wife Anna Gonzales, Ida Jean & husband Ken Buckle, along with her loving grandchildren, Brittany & husband Luis, Brandon & Emily, Melody, Nathan and Alezay, and her great grandchildren Brooklyn, Riley, Alex, and Lincoln, along with numerous nieces, nephews, godchildren, friends, and other loved ones. Viola was a Loving Wife, Mother, Daughter, Sister, Grandmother, Aunt, Godmother, Friend, and especially Cheer Mom to many. She will be deeply missed. The family extends their thanks to the staff at Hermann Memorial Southeast Covid unit for their loving care and hard work from these brave doctors and nurses. Viewing for immediate family will be held Friday, September 10, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Viola’s Life from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Rosary to be held at 7:00 p.m. Graveside services and interment will be at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Park Lawndale. A map will be provided at the service. Masks are required in the sanctuary and social distancing will be required.
